It all seems so simple really, just approach someone, have a nice chat, and ask if you can take their photo.

The trouble is, for those of us who are snapshooters used to anonymously photographing buildings, which tend to be very patient, or trees which have nothing else to do while we muck around with our compositions and camera settings, people provide a range of new, illogical, and quite inexplicable pressures.

Approaching even the nicest people makes one's palms go sweaty. Here very publicly, is my learning curve.
